Lenny
About This Dog
Lenny's ideal home
Lenny can live with older teens but needs to be the only pet at home, though he will walk with some quiet dogs. He is house trained but not used t o spending time alone so would need his adopters to be around most of the time, building up his solo time gradually. Lenny is very timid and will need multiple meets at the centre before going home.
Could you be Lenny's perfect match?
Lenny might look intimidating but he's really such a gentle and even timid lad. His owners were struggling to meet his needs so he's looking for a family that has Cane Corso or large dog experience. Len is strong and when he wants to go, he goes! He's nervous when he meets people and likes a slow approach and time to assess you, as he is easily overwhelmed and sometimes resorts to grabbing his lead when things get too much. Lenny is a young dog, only a year old and still has lots to get to grips with. He is happy to walk alongside other dogs but isn't quite sure how to behave when meeting them. We've seen him be rather worried by one and also burst into excited zoomies over another! Some gentle socialisation with appropriate dogs will do him the world of good. Lenny is very playful and often the less robust toys don't last so long. With a family that can help build his confidence and gradually introduce him to the world at his pace, there's no reason lenny can't put his uncertain, worried past behind him, and become the wonderful, silly dog that we keep getting little glimpses of.
