About This Dog for Adoption

Ghost's ideal home

Ghost needs a family where everybody is over the age of 16 and where he can be the only pet in a quiet home. Ghost is rather sensitive and can be worried by loud or busy traffic so will need his new home to be somewhere relatively quiet. He is house trained and should be ok to be left for a few hours once settled.

Could you be Ghost's perfect match?

Sensitive lad Ghost has recently found himself returned to our care and is now looking for a quiet and understanding family who are happy to meet him here a few times at the centre as he can be rather worried by new people. He is not on public view at the centre as he does struggle seeing so many new faces on the other side of his kennel, much preferring to meet people outside and and in his own time. Being in a quieter space on site has enabled him to settle and build some nice strong bonds with his regular handlers. Ghost is a very big lad and can be very strong on his lead so will need his new family to be able to handle this and willing to work on some loose lead walking, as well as focus training. Ghost loves the company of other dogs, and loves nothing more than a bit of rough and tumble, however this is not always appreciated by his playmates so he will need to be the only dog in the home whilst he learns some self control and how to play more appropriately! He is a bright young boy who already knows some basic skills and is now just waiting for an experienced family who can help him to build his confidence at a pace that he is comfortable with.

Cane Corso Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cane Corso.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cane Corso Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
